Freakin’ Peachy part 2

Well, it’s been a week since my computer died. Yes, it died. Not only did the powersupply go kaput, the motherboard had seven blown capacitors, loads of viruses and spyware even though I had a good internet security system but something leaked, and for the most part would be better off just buying a new system with as much as it would have cost to get that repaired. Luckily my car will be paid off come the end of September. On the plus side, this means much needed upgrades since my computer may have been top of the line back in January of 2004, but it would be considered a dinosaur here in 2008. And another good thing is that the upgraded versions of the stuff I had on the old one are pretty much standard today so no waiting a couple weeks for a custom ordered machine. Downside: redownloading programs, tweaking the firewall/antivirus, and learning a new OS. This unfortunately is a necessary evil now since computer and internet access is as important to my job as my car is.
